History of the Lure
Lures are nothing new. People have been fishing since 2000 BC! But fishing for sport didn't begin until the late 15th century. In the beginning, lures were made by hand. Over time, they've continuously improved as the sport, itself, has improved. As fisherman and women have become more and more knowledgeable about the behavior of fish, they've been able to make better lures. Today, handmade lures are a thing of the past. But making more advanced lures isn't! Over time, the need arose for a lure that could go places other lures couldn't – and could catch fish instead of debris. This need helped to create the mother of all lures: the Slickfish.
The Inventors
These guys knew how to fish. They also knew they wanted something better than what they had. Trying to get the big ones in the weeds usually resulted in lots of lost lures – and no fish. So they embarked on a mission: to make the first truly weedless lure, a lure so beautiful, the big fish couldn't resist it. Plenty of prototypes and lots of research (fishing trips) later, they discovered the secret to catching the fish no one else can: make a lure with retractable hooks that don't catch until the fish bites. Years later, these guys are bringing home the big ones! And sharing their creation with the rest of us. Thanks, guys!
